Train travel from Martha's Vineyard involves a ferry and a transfer to complete the journey.  The Catch-A-TrainTM  network of ferry and transfer operations provides convenient train connections for travelers between Martha's Vineyard and Amtrak stations in the Northeast Corridor such as New York, Stamford, Philadelphia, & Washington.  Connections are provided from Martha's Vineyard via the New Bedford ferry, the Falmouth ferries, the Hyannis ferry, & the Woods Hole ferry.  These ferries from Martha's Vineyard carry passengers from Vineyard Haven and Oak Bluffs all year and from Edgartown in the summer.   Edgartown connections available to Vineyard Haven and Oak Bluff ferries all year.

Service Updates: Thanks to schedule changes by both Amtrak and MBTA it is now possible to weekend commute to Martha's Vineyard all year leaving New York after the end of the work day on Thursdays or Fridays and arriving back in New York Monday or Tuesday at 9:45 am.  No train service east of New Haven June 14-17--Special fares apply.

Acelas offer Business Class and First Class .
Regional trains offer Coach Class and Business Class and sometimes offer faster schedules than Acela.
First Class offers spacious 2-and-1 seating and food is served at your seat.  Seats are not pre-assigned.
